“So if you’re indeed having fun, you cannot be thinking about whether you’re having fun.”

I’m so glad you wrote this, because it describes exactly what a lot of people, including myself, have been going through and proposes a simple solution (do what you normally do when you are having fun).

    Hey Thoseguns,
Wow, thanks for the compliment. It started off a lot longer, but my editing skills are getting better.

It’s a fine line between qualifying and rapport-seeking. The key is the mindset, a true screening frame and having standards that are truly important to you.

    Happy playin’, The Asian Rake.

This was the post I’ve been waiting for. I Love it! I’ve been pondering about Attainability for awhile and all of a sudden you post it. You made S&Q so easy to use. It motivated me to really work on it and perfect it. It’s funny that you wrote about the ‘Shock and Awe’. People use it, but had no success yet.

    As always thanks,

    Wow, thanks, anonymous!
I find it funny that people haven’t had success with “shock and awe.” To be honest, lots of PUAs I know and naturals have been doing this for a long time. It’s just that Ciaran was the first to write such a clear description of how to do it and what’s going on. It really relies a lot on having the correct mindset, which is to say, strong (and morally good, as Ciaran pointed out) inner game. And it’s a hallmark of natural game in the bars and clubs.

    Happy playin’, The Asian Rake.

Awesome post, I agree with your framework here, very valid and good stuff!
This is a topic that I have thought about for some time now.

I’m curious (and maybe you are planning on a post on this in the future) about the time progression aspect of the 80-20 rule. For example, in a typical MM type structure, you’re starting off with negs, ignoring, going off on your own threads etc… and 80% pushing initially until the girl show’s interest, then you qualify (pull) and go into comfort (80% pull) and beyond. This progression creates the feeling that the girl is earning your interest.

Like you said, Zan, maybe your own style, and direct game for the most part is mostly pull - and I think that adding the 20% push here may be of great effect. I agree that you have to have your internals sorted out for this type of game (as you have to be congruent and subcommunicate high value) for the pull to be effective and it works best with high value girls. However, I’ll also take it a step further and argue that this type of game is optimized for high value girls that are internally validated, not externally validated.

My opinion is that proper calibration really depends on your target. For example, I’ve noticed the typical hot party girl (the ones seeking attention in a club, out to pump state and establish social status for ex) will respond more to push than pull. I don’t think Zan’s game will work as effectively here (I’ve tried). It really is about validation and creating massive sexual tension that can only be released by sex (so even kino and make-outs are to be kept to the minimum - just enough for minimal comfort and to “pull” on the non-verbal channel while you withhold validation and tease her). Another benefit to this type of game is that there’s almost no LMR!

    Awesome post again!
    Any comments appreciated.

  33. asianrake on June 29th, 2008 10:08 pm

    Hey Flow,
Thanks for the long comment :-)
I don’t think in terms of MM structure. I don’t consciously use negs or “show disinterest.” If I’m not interested, then I’m not interested. That should show on my face, my BL, etc. It will be subcommunicated. I don’t need to do anything extra to show this. Of course, this comes down to having solid inner game.

Yes, my style is mainly the Rake with a bit of Charismatic thrown in. See the link near the bottom of my sidebar.

I’d say Zan is a good example of the Rake.

You say you’ve tried out Zan’s style, but as I mentioned, the style of The Rake is not something you can just “try out.” To truly pull it off effectively, you have to BE the Rake. It’s not something you do (or try out). It’s something you are.

In my teaching, I focus on the fundamentals (body language and tonality) because that accounts for over 90% of attraction. And the key to getting the outer fundamentals down is having the inner fundamentals down–the right mindset and attitude. This is not something you can just “try.”

Obviously, the proportion of push vs. pull is partly dependent on your target. I’ve already mentioned this in my article. Pulling a girl in will obviously work best on girls who are confident and have a high self-esteem. I just assume that that is the sort of high-quality girl most guys are looking for. Maybe that’s just me.

Thanks again for your thoughtful comment, dude!

    Cheers, The Asian Rake.

Great post. I am doing my “deep inner game” works like standing front of mirror and doing my affirmations. When my inner game gets more and more better, this post pull-pull-pull-push is like super hot extra! Shock Awe + little push + something that pops out my head when I am in the moment.

Wow. Simply amazing. I was a little skeptical about following a link that the author himself plugged in an MASF post, but this is pure gold! I especially enjoyed reading it because I’ve never had problems openning sets or running patterns, but I had trouble delivering effective SOIs. Now I realize it’s because I was “giving away” value instead of S&Q’ing her for it. I can’t thank you enough!!

Great post. I really struggled with cocky and funny at first. It’s good to see someone actually talk about it in a way that makes sense. If a woman doesn’t have good self esteem or the guy using it doesn’t it throws everything off. It really is about finding a good mix depending on where you are and where she is. Thanks

  44. asianrake on August 11th, 2008 12:42 pm

    Risto,
Glad you got something out of my post :-) Keep it up, man!

    Tony,
You’re totally right. Most of the community doctrine is overly simplistic. Everything should be calibrated to the particular woman and to your specific situation.

    Great post Asian Rake.

It seems like the more women you reject, paradoxically the more women chase you, and that the key is to know what you are looking for in a sexual relationship and don’t accept anything less, put everyone else into the friends box or random hookup box (only if hot). The more you do that and sincerely don’t go after those people who are ‘just friends’ the more women are attracted to you and can believe that you like them too.
